Cold Brews At Home
A few months ago, I felt like I was overspending on coffee, specifically cold brews from Starbucks. Cold brews are my absolute favorite most all year round, but especially in the summer when it's hot. The velvety coffee topped with a beautiful whipped, flavored foam is the perfect way to begin my day. So, after seeing my bank account take a hit from continuously reloading my Starbucks app, I went to Target and began exploring cold brews. When I finally landed on one, I decided to 'wing' the rest. Now it doesn't have specific instructions because I don't like a lot of sweet drinks but, here's my version of a cold brew with salted caramel cold foam on top. You can definitely tell by taste
Here's what you need:
-any black, cold brew coffee
-Torani Salted Caramel Syrup, to taste
-heavy whipping cream
-milk
-dash of salt
-ice
First, I fill a glass up with ice. Next I pour my black cold brew coffee over the ice while I prep my flavored foam top. In a separate glass, I mix heavy whipping cream with a splash or two of milk, a splash of my Torani Salted Caramel Syrup and a dash of salt. Once everything is added, I take my hand frother and begin to froth until foam is just starting to form. Once my foam is at the consistency I like (I still like mine partial foam and partial liquid because I want it to still mix in with my coffee, not fully sit on top), I pour it over the top of the iced, black coffee and voila.
I spent under $5 for the black coffee that will last me through the week. All the rest of the things, I already keep on hand. This is also a super quick way to prep your coffee before you leave the house in the morning and you can avoid the long lines and money spent at your local coffee shop.
Hope this helps and that you enjoy! Let us know what you think of this recipe!
